Chiricahua National Moment is called a "Wonderland of Rock". Located in the Chiricahua Mountains in southeast Arizona you leave the desert behind and enter a different scene. There is camping and hiking available at Chiricahua. If you only wish to visit for the day the drive through the park gives a good view of the different rock formations. The area is remote so be sure to take everything you need. if you are going for a day trip only be sure to pack a picnic lunch.

Mountain View, Arkansas
On this trip it rained almost every day. I still managed to visit most of my favorite places. All are worth a trip to Mountain View.
The Ozark Folk Center State Park(www.ozarkfolkcenter.com/)
The Park was established to preserve the crafts and music that are native to the Ozarks. The crafts are all in their own small building so I used my umbrella to get from building to building. There were not many people visiting and I had long talks with the craft persons in each building. The outdoor music shows in the park are always fun and I braved the cold damp weather to listen to one. I purchased a combo ticket for 17.50 and came back for the evening show in the auditorium. It was a good show. I also purchased crafts in two of the buildings.
Blanchard Springs Caverns
The Caverns are operated by the National Park Service and are ranked in the top ten caves in the US. The Dripstone Trail is the only one open this time of year. I have gone on the tour several times and it never gets old. The Caverns are about 10 miles out of Mountain View
Downtown Mountain View
When it is not raining there is picking and playing on the Square ever night. Take you chair and sit awhile. It is free.
There are also fun places to shop around the square. I took an afternoon to visit them all and made a few purchases. At the end of my shopping I visited the Drugstore that still has an old-fashioned soda fountain. They still make milkshakes and malts the old way. I got the fun of watching my malt made and the even more fun of drinking it.
Any photos on this post came from other web sites.

Serenity Farm Bread
My trip was cut short by rain but I did visit a few places I want to share in the next few posts.
If you are ever on US 65 between Conway, AR and Russellville, AR be sure to take a right at Leslie, AR. Follow AR 66 for 3 blocks and stop at Serenity Farm Bread. Here you can buy Old World Sourdough bread baked in a brick oven. You can stand and watch the bread being taken out of the oven and I arrived as fresh County French Sourdough loaves were being removed and placed on cooling shelves. Made the old fashioned way with natural leaven, organic unbleached white flour, organic whole-wheat flour, organic unbleached malted four, filtered water and unrefined sea salt County French is one of my two favorites to purchase at Serenity Farms. Serenity Farm’s Focaccia is the other. Those are just two of the breads you can find at Serenity Farm Bread. Breads baked at Serenity Farm Bread are why bread is called the staff of life. If you are in the area don’t miss this special treat. I stopped twice on this trip; once on the way and once on the way back.
For more information visit the Serenity Farm Bread site at www.serenityfarmbread.us/.
