Snow again in Bella Vista

We have cold weather and snow again. I got out early this morning to take a few pictures. The rest I took this afternoon. The snow measured 5 inches after the sun had been out for several hours so we probably had a little more. Hunter went out with me and played some in the snow. The snowmen solar lights were out in front of my house at Christmas and I moved them to the back when I took the Christmas decorations down. Today they were all wearing a snow hat. This time last year we had a major ice storm so everyone was happy to see snow not ice. One of my neighbors even put out signs to welcome the snow.

Mildred B. Cooper Memorial Chapel

Once it warmed up enough to get out I went to see if there was still snow around Cooper Chapel here in Bella Vista. The chapel is an open design by E. Fay Jones (listed as one of the 10 must influential architects in the 20th Century) and built by the Cooper family. There was a little snow in front and more in the back of the chapel. I am posting pictures of both sides. If you are ever in the area come and visit this little chapel. It is open 9 to 5 every day and is often used for weddings.

Extreme Cold

Like much of the nation we have been very cold. In fact when I went down to the lake across the street from my house I found it frozen over. That may not be unusual further north but here in Arkansas it is very rare. This is one of the larger lakes here in Bella Vista so I did not expect it to find it frozen.

Christmas Lights

I love the lights that go up at Christmas. While I don't put up many I enjoy the ones I do have. Here are two views of my lights. We had a little snow on the ground and more coming down when I took these photos. You can tell the few lights that are not LED's.
