I went to bed last night on Wednesday and woke up today on Friday. We crossed the International Date Line last night. Changing the day is much easier than gaining an hours when we cross a time zone.
We are at sea now for four days. Our last shore day was in the Cook Islands. We could not get tenders into the planned bay so we went around the island to another break in the coral reef and went on shore there. Kathy (a new friend from my dinner table_ and I went in to swin and snorkel for a hour or a hour and a half. That plan did not workl
The entrance to the lagoon was very narrow and the tenders had to be very careful coming in. The tender after ours did not make it. As we were sitting on the beach watching and getting read to go in the water we saw the tender miss the passage and get stuck on the reef. It had a full load of passengers who were stuck with the tender. It took many tries and about four hours to get it off the reef and towed back to the ship.
No one could leave the island or the ship while this was going on. Fortunately we had a great shady spot on the beach to sit and watch the efforts to rescue the tender and the passengers.
It was good that we had that as the swimming and snorkeling were not good at all.
