Denver Trip

I went out to Denver to help Chris out.  He took in a little feral kitten who grew and had kittens of her own.  We took CatCat (the cat's name) and her three kittens to Spay Today  a great group in Lakewood.  CatCat will have not more kittens and the three kittens went to a rescue group, Life is Better.  While I was there we had rain (see my car out in the street in front of Chris's house), a rainbow, and right there in the middle of Denver a Very Healthy Fox.

Company In Town

My friend Nancy from Maine was here last week so I took her out to see the sights.  We visited the Museum where Sam Walton had his first store.  The Museum has just been redone.  It is updated and interactive.  From there we went to Compton Gardens and walked down to see Crystal Bridges Museum.  It is due to open this year on 11/11 at 11.  There were several people doing the same and one told us to look for what looked like a dead tree.  It is actually one of the sculptures and there is a bicycle up in the limbs.  The next day we went to Eureka Springs.  We stopped at the Pea Ridge National Battlefield, Throwncrown Chapel and went out to see the Christ of the Ozarks.  We also saw the church where you enter at the bell tower and the Crescent Hotel.   I loved having Nancy visit and we had several full days visiting and seeing the sights.

Botanical Garden of the Ozarks - Spring 2011

I found a large variety of flowers blooming at the Botanical Garden when I visited on Saturday.  You can visit the Garden for free on Saturday morning and there was a steady stream of people enjoying all of the flowers and taking advantage of the beautiful weather.

I went by Garvan Woodland Gardens on the way to Oaklawn. Spring is a wonderful time to visit and I got some great photos of the flowers.

Oaklawn Park Racetrack

Matt, Doug and I went over to Hot Springs, AR to the races on St. Patrick's Day. We all had one of Oaklawn's famous cornbeef sandwiches and enjoyed a perfect day at the track.
