Napier, New Zealand
No tours today. I road the shuttle to downtown. This is a wonderful town. It was destroyed in an earthquake in 1931 and was rebuilt in the Art Deco style. There weather was just perfect. This is a great place to be outdoors. There was a bagpipe contest in the park. There were teams from all over the south part of the North Island. The winner will go to compete in the nationwide contest. I got a new card for my camera, ate Hokey Pokey Ice Cream and just enjoyed being outdoors. The gardens were great. I visited the National Aquarium of New Zealand. They have the penguins that are native to New Zealand. All that they have have been injured and cannot go back to the wild. This is my favorite port so far.
