Napoleon and Saint Helena
I first heard about Saint Helena Island in history class. This is where Napoleon was sent after Waterloo and where he died. We visited his first tomb. His body has since been moved to Paris. We say Longwood House where he lived and died and Briars Pavilion where he spent his first three months. We also saw the house he was to move to but died before he moved. The French own all of these sites. This is a beautiful island but it is small and it was a very confining prison for a man who had the ambitions he had.
